Smileys: A Puppet Pals Story is an 2016 American 3D computer-animated action-adventure comedy film produced by Fox Animation for 20th Century Fox. It serves as a spin-off/prequel to the Puppet Pals franchise, it is written and directed by Phil Anderson and co-directed by David Silverman from a screenplay by Dan Fogelman, Phillip Melton, Mike Reiss, and Jon Vitti, and stars the voices of Patton Oswalt, Sarah Vowell, Josh Gad, Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, Rob Corddry, Keegan-Michael Key, Daisy Ridley, John Cena, and Emily Blunt, with the narration provided by Geoffrey Rush.

Smileys: A Puppet Pals Story had its initial world premiere at the Dolby Theater on April 2, 2016, and was theatrically released in the United States on April 8, 2016 by 20th Century Fox in 3D, Digital 3D, and IMAX 3D. Critical response was mixed; some praised the comedic aspects of the film and the performances of Patton Oswalt, Sarah Vowell, Josh Gad, Sandra Bullock, and Channing Tatum, but felt that the title characters were not able to carry the film on their own.
